Remote Salaried Travel Advisor
Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a service-oriented Travel Advisor to join The Travel Byrds. Every trip we book is fully customized to the client and your role would be to understand the traveler’s needs, research and design the trip, then present the best options to the client.
This role is focused on converting leads into booked trips, ensuring a seamless and personalized travel planning experience. You will be supported by a dedicated team of assistants for administrative tasks and a Guest Experience Manager who will handle post-booking guest services.
Not only will you be researching the top travel destinations around the world, but we will send you on at least 2 international trips a year to familiarize yourself with the locations you’ll be selling.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to travel inquiries and follow up on leads.
- Consult with clients to understand their travel preferences, needs, and budget.
- Present tailored travel options and itineraries to clients.
- Guide clients through the booking process, ensuring clarity and satisfaction.
- Seamlessly transition clients to the Guest Experience Manager once trips are booked.
- Few nights and weekends may be required for client emergencies during travel, but you would be able to take off the following week so overtime is not required.
What You Won’t Do
- You will not be responsible for post-booking guest services such as dinner reservations, spa appointments, or last-minute questions—these are managed by the Guest Experience Managers.
- You will not handle routine administrative tasks, such as invoicing, final payment reminders, or checking everything pre-departure. These are managed by Our Operations Team.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of proven experience in a sales role. No travel industry experience will be necessary.
- Strong sales and customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with remote teams.
- Knowledge of luxury or bespoke travel services.
- A valid passport.
Benefits
- $50K annual salary with opportunities for $45K in bonus.
- $3,000 annual travel budget for familiarization trips. International travel required.
- Fully paid attendance to our Company Retreat each year.
- Health insurance stipend.
- Fully remote position.
- Support from a team of assistants and a dedicated Guest Experience Manager.
- Opportunities for professional growth and travel industry training.
