When a Picnic Turns Into an Unforgettable Dining Experience
You know when you’re told you’re going on a picnic, but you show up to a four-course elegant dining experience surrounded by a stunning church and magnificent mountains?
That was one of the surprises waiting for us in Peru!
For my fellow foodies, this country is an absolute dream. Peru has earned international recognition for its culinary scene, and after experiencing it firsthand, I can certainly understand why.
The food was incredible, but the setting made the experience even more special. Sharing an elegant meal surrounded by remarkable scenery, rich history, and great company turned an unexpected surprise into one of those moments you wish you could relive.
Getting to enjoy these experiences with our Travel Byrds team made it even better. There’s something special about discovering new flavors together, sharing reactions to each course, and enjoying a meal without thinking about the next meeting or the next item on the to-do list.
It was the perfect reminder that sometimes the best travel moments are the ones you never see coming.

Stepping Into History: Discovering the Ingenuity of the Incas
Peru offered us so much more than incredible food and beautiful scenery. It gave us the opportunity to learn about a fascinating civilization whose ingenuity continues to inspire us today.
One of the highlights of our journey was learning about the ancient Incan agricultural terraces and the remarkable farming techniques used to cultivate crops in challenging mountainous terrain.
I was amazed by how the Incas adapted to their environment and made the most of the land around them. Their resourcefulness and understanding of the landscape are truly impressive, and seeing these historic places firsthand gave me a deeper appreciation for their achievements.
What made the experience even more meaningful was sharing these discoveries with our team. Traveling together gives us the opportunity to learn something new, exchange perspectives, and appreciate places and cultures that may be very different from our everyday lives.
It’s one thing to read about history, but it’s another to stand surrounded by it.
These are the experiences that make travel so rewarding. We don’t just return with photographs; we return with new knowledge, fresh perspectives, and stories to share.
Mountains, Moments, and Memories
I don’t know if I’ll ever get tired of talking about the mountains in Peru!
Every day seemed to bring another breathtaking view, another reason to stop and take it all in. The dramatic peaks, incredible landscapes, and sheer beauty of our surroundings made it hard not to smile from ear to ear.
Some places look beautiful in pictures, but being there in person is an entirely different experience. Peru was one of those places for me.
And experiencing it alongside the Travel Byrds team made those moments even more memorable.
Whether we were admiring the scenery, exploring new places, sharing a laugh, or capturing photos along the way, we were creating memories that went beyond the destinations themselves.
Looking back at our team photos, I’m reminded that some of the best moments aren’t always the ones on the itinerary. They’re the spontaneous smiles, the conversations between activities, the laughter, and the little interactions that make a trip truly special.

For me, one of the most valuable parts of a team retreat is the opportunity to connect outside the workplace.
We spend so much of our time working toward shared goals, solving challenges, and moving projects forward. Taking time away from our usual routines gives us a chance to slow down and enjoy the people we work alongside in a completely different setting.
In Peru, we shared new experiences, discovered a different culture, enjoyed incredible food, and explored some truly extraordinary places together.
There is something special about experiencing a new destination as a team. We get to see different sides of one another, create shared stories, and build connections that extend beyond our everyday responsibilities.
It’s not just about the activities we do or the places we visit. It’s about the conversations, the laughter, the unexpected surprises, and the memories that become part of our team’s story.
