Authentic Egyptian Cuisine
Egyptian cuisine is a captivating blend of Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and African flavors, reflecting the nation’s rich history. Bread, notably Aish Baladi, a type of flatbread, is a constant companion to dishes, while aromatic spices like cumin, coriander, and cardamom infuse recipes with depth.
Hearty stews and tagines, slow-cooked with a mix of meats or seafood, vegetables, and spices, are comforting staples. Molokhia, a green leafy vegetable stew, exemplifies the robust stews found in Egyptian kitchens. For those with a sweet tooth, desserts like Basbousa (semolina cake), Kunafa (shredded phyllo pastry), and Baklava add a decadent touch.
Do not visit Egypt without exploring Egyptian street food. You’ll discover favorites like Koshari, a mix of lentils, rice, pasta, and chickpeas, and Hawawshi, meat-stuffed sandwiches, as well as an array of Kebabs. Traditional beverages like Karkadeh (hibiscus tea) and Sahlab, a warm milk pudding, add unique flavors to the experience.
Egyptian hospitality, generous portions, and a diverse range of flavors make every culinary exploration a delight. From bustling markets to street corners, Egypt’s cuisine offers a tapestry of tastes waiting to be savored.

Monica helped me plan an epic trip to Iceland this past summer. I had never used a travel service before as I am a pretty confident traveler but this was a new country for me and I was nervous to plan all the activities we wanted to fit in for my family on my own. We are also kinda “by the seat of our pants travelers” and I knew that Iceland in the summer needs some advanced planning and that I needed some help. Monica was so helpful and we camped in an RV, drove all around the entire island, hiked a glacier, rode horses on the the beach, went whale watching, saw many many waterfalls, puffins/sheep/seals. She was so helpful in planning our route, activities and ensuring everything was booked. I was definitely use her for trips in the future! Gina Rader put together a truly unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime trip to Sicily for my father, my husband and I. She listened carefully to our desires and designed an itinerary that perfectly matched our interests. My father requested to find the home and flour mill of his maternal grandfather and then have an overview of the island. Gina connected us with Vivere Slow, an organization in Contessa Entellina, where we met Anna & Nino. They picked us up from the Palermo airport, stopped along some places on the west side to tour and eat while eventually making our way to Contessa Entellina. Anna was able to locate our ancestral line and also found living relatives which we met with. We were also able to visit the ancestral home and flour mill of my great grandfather. It was truly amazing and unforgettable. From there we mostly followed the coast all the way around the south, east and north arriving back in Palermo. We had many amazing tours in various cities and towns and also toured 2 wineries. Gina truly went above and beyond with her attention to details, her knowledge of the areas and exceptional service. All accommodations were top notch. We felt completely taken care of throughout the entire process of planning and executing. She provided us with a list of tips, points of interest in each place, emergency contact numbers, local weather app, recommendations, how and where to exchange dollars to euros, etc. We could not have asked for a better agent, and I highly recommend her to anyone considering a trip. Gina made our dreams into reality, and it was virtually a stress-free planning process. Malia May4 December 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
